Something I am working on this year is reconnecting and making time for my relationship! With a little one our focus is always on her, but to be the best parents we also need to focus on us! I posted last year a date night guide for San Francisco but wanted to put together a new one with some fun spots! If you want to check out the previous one I am linking here for more ideas!

+ Black Cat – This place is so cool and not my typical hang out but I loved trying something new. They have live jazz bands (schedule is on their website), delicious food, and yummy cocktails. If your guy loves music or you just want to try something new this place is a must go!

+ Foreign Cinema – I love the idea of having a great meal and a movie playing the background. Make sure you check their website to see when and what movies are playing! This would be a fun place to come before going to El Techo for a cocktail!

+ El Techo – Located in the heart of the Mission this rooftop bar is fantastic. Whether you just want to stand under the heaters and overlook the city skyline or sit at a high-top table and split tacos! This place is always busy but the buzzing atmosphere adds to the ambiance of this date spot! As you guys know I am a margarita gal and theirs do not disappoint, if you want a twist on a classic I also LOVE their paloma!

+ Charmaine’s – Speaking of rooftop bars, Charmaine’s is one of my favorite places in the city. The drinks are fantastic and so different. The fire pits make it cozy and romantic and the views of downtown San Francisco are breath taking. Make sure to get here a bit early if you want a place to sit by the fire pit. If you are hungry after a few cocktails (or just need to soak up some alcohol), the restaurant downstairs in the Proper hotel has great food! They have these Hawaiian rolls with warm butter that are amazing!

+ Bourbon & Branch – If you want to feel like you have been taken back in time this is your place. You have to make a reservation and you are given a “password” to get in-to this speak easy bar. This place was actually a real speak easy in the 30’s so the little bit of history gives you something to talk about and admire. Their mixologists are some of the best in the city and they have so many kinds of Bourbon and Whiskey!

+ Mastro’s Steakhouse – This is where you come when you want a fancy steak house night! Tasso is a steak guy so this is the perfect place for us to go when we want a nice dinner out. You have to order the warm butter cake, OMG it is to die for!!

+ Howells – It’s no secret that I love the Marina it was my favorite area to live in the city. Howells wine bar is a hidden gem!! Their wine selection is top notch and their small menu pairs perfectly with all their wines. This is a great place to learn more about wines as well which always makes for fun conversation on a first date or the millionth date!

If you are down in the peninsula like me I have a few favorite date night or dinner spots too!

+ Evvia – Tasso and I love Greek food and Evvia is our spot. My favorite appetizer is the Saghanaki (mouth is literally watering as I type this) which is a fried cheese dish! I also always get the Avgolemono soup which is a traditional lemony chicken soup. We go here all the time by ourselves and for family meals!

+ Selby’s – This new trendy restaurant just opened in Atherton and has received lots of buzz for having the most expensive hamburger in this Bay Area. We went here for Tasso’s birthday and loved their martini cart and filet mignon. Word on the street is this is Steph Curry’s favorite restaurant in the area! Still waiting for my spotting of our favorite Warriors player!

+ Terun – This little Italian restaurant in Palo Alto is always busy! I love sitting in their back patio under the strung lights. It makes you feel like you might be in some cute town in the south of Italy. I love their San Daniele pizza and Scialatielli pasta! Also you have to have their salted caramel gelato with the olive oil drizzle, sounds like an odd combo but it is amazing.
